Türkiye Maternity and Paternity Leave Calculator Added

Hesaplayıcı has a new maternity leave calculator for Türkiye. It finds the first and last day of maternity, paternity and adoption leave, the day back at work and nursing leave. It applies the rules of employees, civil servants, 4/B contract staff and the self-employed, with the 16 weeks after the birth from 1 May 2026.

What does the calculator find?

You enter the expected birth date, the actual birth date if there is one, and your status. The calculator gives the dates of the leave before and after the birth, the day back at work, the hours and last day of nursing leave, and the dates of the optional half-time work. For paternity leave the birth date is enough; for adoption, the handover date. Every step shows its formula.

How many weeks is maternity leave?

For employees and civil servants, 8 weeks before the birth and 16 after it, 24 in all; 26 with twins. With a doctor’s approval one can work until 2 weeks before the birth; the weeks worked move to after it. After an early birth the unused days move to after it too, so the total does not get shorter.

How many days is paternity leave?

An employee whose wife gives birth gets 10 days of paid leave; before 1 May 2026 it was 5. Civil servants and 4/B contract staff get the same. The leave counts calendar days, weekends included.

Is a civil servant’s leave different?

The weeks are the same. A civil servant’s nursing leave starts after the maternity leave and is more hours a day in the first six months; half-time work is given in months. An employee of a public body under an employment contract follows the rules for employees. A self-employed mother has no employer, so the calculator shows the periods SGK pays the benefit for.

Worked example

An employed mother with an expected birth date of 1 December 2026 starts her leave on 6 October 2026. If the baby comes on 17 November, 2 weeks early, the 14 unused days move to after the birth; the leave still ends on 22 March 2027 and she is back at work on 23 March 2027. An employed father of the same baby is on paternity leave from 1 to 10 December 2026.
