Türkiye Military and Birth Buyback 2026: How Much?

In 2026, one day of military service buyback costs 495.45 TRY at the floor and one day of birth buyback 352.32 TRY. 12 months of service cost 178,362 TRY, the 720 days of one birth 253,670.40 TRY. The cost is the days times your daily earning, between the 1,101.00 TRY floor and the 9,909.00 TRY ceiling, times the premium rate.

How much is military service buyback in 2026?

SGK counts a month as 30 days: 12 months of military service are 360 days, 15 months 450 days, 18 months 540 days. The cost at the floor and at the ceiling:

Most people buy back at the floor. A higher daily earning costs more and can raise the pension.

How many days of birth buyback, and how much?

Each birth gives the 2 years after it, at most 720 days. Since 11 September 2014, up to 3 births can be bought back, 2,160 days in all (Law no. 6552). Days you were insured in those years are left out, and you must have been insured before the birth. At the floor, the 720 days of one birth cost 253,670.40 TRY, the 1,440 days of two births 507,340.80 TRY, the 2,160 days of three births 761,011.20 TRY.

Why did buyback cost rise so much?

Law no. 7566 raised the premium rate of military service and the other buybacks from 32% to 45% from 1 January 2026; birth buyback stays at 32%. The daily floor rose with the minimum wage from 866.85 TRY to 1,101.00 TRY. So 12 months of military service cost 99,861.12 TRY for an application on 31 December 2025 and 178,362 TRY in 2026. The floor and the ceiling stay the same all through 2026; they did not change in July.

Can the buyback be paid in instalments?

No, the law has no instalments. The debt is paid within one month of SGK’s notice (Law no. 5510, art. 41). If it is not paid in time, the buyback lapses; a new application is priced at the floor, ceiling and rate of its own day. If you pay part of the debt, the days that the amount paid covers count as service.

Worked example

A mother who gave birth on 15 March 2023 and was insured for 150 days in the 2 years after it buys back 720 − 150 = 570 days with an application on 3 October 2026. At the floor the cost is 570 × 352.32 = 200,822.40 TRY.
