Türkiye Minimum Wage by Year: Gross, Net and Employer Cost

This page lists every period of Türkiye’s minimum wage since 2005: the monthly gross and net amount, the daily gross amount and the employer cost without an incentive. The value in force is at the top; the full series is in the chart and the table. Each row cites the Official Gazette issue, and the payroll calculators read this data.

How to read the table

• Gross (monthly): thirty times the daily gross wage the Minimum Wage Determination Commission sets. Payroll starts from this figure.
• Net (monthly): the gross amount less the employee’s social security and unemployment insurance premiums. Since 2022 the income and stamp tax on the minimum wage are exempt, so the net figure holds no tax deduction. For earlier years the official tables state the net amount together with the minimum living allowance; this page shows only the net amounts the sources give.
• Employer cost (no incentive): the gross wage plus the employer’s social security and unemployment premiums, before the Treasury point discount. For years whose table gives discounted costs only, the row names the discount.

Periods and currency

Since 2016 the minimum wage is set once a year; in earlier years it usually changed twice a year, and the table lists each period as its own row. The amounts for 2005 to 2008 are in New Turkish lira (YTL). One YTL equals one TL, so the figures read like today’s lira; values from before 2005, with six more zeros, are not part of this series.

Legal basis

The minimum wage is set by the Minimum Wage Determination Commission under article 39 of Labour Law no. 4857 and takes effect with the decision published in the Official Gazette.
