Step by step
Average monthly gross earnings
average monthly gross earnings = the amount given
average monthly gross earnings = 33,030.00 = 33,030.00 TRY
calculated benefit = average monthly gross earnings × 40%
calculated benefit = 33,030.00 × 40% = 13,212.00 TRY
Monthly cap
cap = gross minimum wage × 80%
cap = 33,030.00 × 80% = 26,424.00 TRY
Monthly gross benefit
monthly gross benefit = min(calculated benefit, cap)
monthly gross benefit = min(13,212.00, 26,424.00) = 13,212.00 TRY
Daily gross benefit
daily benefit = monthly gross benefit / 30
daily benefit = 13,212.00 / 30 = 440.40 TRY
Stamp duty
stamp duty = monthly gross benefit × 7.59‰
stamp duty = 13,212.00 × 7.59‰ = 100.28 TRY
Monthly net unemployment benefit
monthly net benefit = monthly gross benefit − stamp duty
monthly net benefit = 13,212.00 − 100.28 = 13,111.72 TRY
Benefit period
benefit period = 180 days (600+ premium days)
benefit period = 700 premium days → 180 days = 180 days
Total net benefit
total net benefit = monthly net benefit × 6
total net benefit = 13,111.72 × 6 (2026-09-16 – 2027-03-14) = 78,670.32 TRY

Formula
monthly gross benefit = min(average monthly gross earnings × 40%; gross minimum wage × 80%)
monthly net benefit = monthly gross benefit − stamp duty
- Average monthly gross earnings: the average of the earnings on which premiums were paid in the last 4 months. Extra pay in those months, such as a bonus, counts.
- Cap: 80% of the gross minimum wage for workers over 16. It changes with the minimum wage of each payment month.
- Stamp duty: 7.59 per mille of the gross benefit, rounded to the kuruş. Nothing else is deducted.
- Period: 180 days for 600 premium days in the last 3 years, 240 days for 900, 300 days for 1,080.
Worked example
The example on the page shows a person who earned the 2026 minimum wage in the last 4 months, has 700 premium days and left the job on 15 September 2026. The gross benefit is 40% of the earnings and stays under the cap. After stamp duty, the monthly net amount is the one in İŞKUR’s 2026 table; the total of the 180 days is shown too.
Limits
The calculator does not check that the job ended for a reason the law lists, nor the 120-day condition. It does not take off the days lost to an application made later than 30 days. For a year whose minimum wage is not known yet, it uses the last known amount. It does not cover jobs that ended before 1 January 2009.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much is the unemployment benefit in Türkiye in 2026?
40% of the monthly average of the gross earnings of the last 4 months, less stamp duty. On the 2026 minimum wage it is 13,111.72 TRY a month. The highest amount is 80% of the gross minimum wage, 26,424 TRY, less stamp duty: 26,223.44 TRY (İŞKUR).
How long is the unemployment benefit paid?
180 days (6 months) for 600 premium days in the last 3 years, 240 days (8 months) for 900 and 300 days (10 months) for 1,080. You must also have worked under an employment contract for the whole of the last 120 days before the job ended.
What is deducted from the unemployment benefit?
Only stamp duty, at 7.59 per mille. No income tax and no social security premium are deducted (Law 4447 art. 50).
Does the benefit rise with the minimum wage?
Only a benefit at the cap rises. The cap is 80% of the gross minimum wage of each month; a benefit under the cap stays the same.
Can I get the benefit if I resign?
No. The benefit is paid when the job ends through no choice or fault of your own. Resignation for just cause, for example unpaid wages, is an exception.
Calculation rules
- Unemployment benefit (Law no. 4447 art. 50): 40% of the monthly average of the gross earnings on which premiums were paid in the last 4 months. It cannot pass 80% of the gross minimum wage for workers over 16. Like İŞKUR’s tables, the calculator works out the monthly amount; the daily benefit is one 30th of it.
- The cap follows the minimum wage of each payment month: when the minimum wage rises, a benefit at the cap rises too, while a benefit under the cap stays the same. The calculator splits the payments into 30-day parts from the day after the end date and gives each part the minimum wage in force on its first day. For a year whose minimum wage is not yet known, it uses the last known amount.
- The only deduction is stamp duty (art. 50: no tax or deduction “except stamp duty”). The rate is the rate on wage payments: 7.59 per mille since 2013. The minimum wage stamp duty exemption does not apply to the benefit; İŞKUR’s 2023–2026 tables take stamp duty from the whole benefit. The calculator rounds the stamp duty to the kuruş.
- Period (art. 50): 180 days for 600 premium days in the last 3 years, 240 days for 900, 300 days for 1,080. You must also have worked under an employment contract for the whole of the last 120 days before the job ended; the calculator does not check this.
- The benefit is paid only when the job ends for a reason the law lists (art. 51): dismissal without just cause, resignation for just cause, the end of a fixed-term contract, a closed or sold workplace. A person who resigns, or who is dismissed for misconduct, gets no benefit. The calculator does not ask the reason.
- Apply to İŞKUR within 30 days of the end of the job. Days of a late application come off the benefit period; the calculator shows the full period. The benefit is paid on the 5th of each month.
- Earnings on which premiums are paid cannot pass the SGK ceiling. That ceiling is always above twice the minimum wage, and 40% of earnings reaches the benefit cap at twice the minimum wage, so the SGK ceiling does not change the result.
- The calculator covers jobs that end from 1 January 2009. Before Law no. 5763 (2008), the benefit was 50% of net earnings and could not pass the net minimum wage.
