Step by step
Length of service
service = years + months/12 + days/365
service = 8 + 3/12 + 0/365 = 8.25 years
Monthly wage used
wage used = min(gross wage + benefits; ceiling)
wage used = min(65,000; 64,948.77) = 64,948.77
Gross severance pay
gross severance pay = wage used × service
gross severance pay = 64,948.77 × (8 + 3/12 + 0/365) = 535,827.35
Stamp duty
stamp duty = gross severance pay × 7.59 per mille
stamp duty = 535,827.35 × 7.59 per mille = 4,066.93
Net severance pay
net severance pay = gross severance pay − stamp duty
net severance pay = 535,827.35 − 4,066.93 = 531,760.42

Formula
Service = years + months/12 + days/365Wage used = min(gross wage + benefits; ceiling)Gross severance pay = wage used × serviceStamp duty = gross severance pay × 7.59 per milleNet severance pay = gross severance pay − stamp duty
Years, months and days are the full years from the start date to the end date, the full months after them and the days after those. Service is counted as the Court of Cassation (Yargıtay) counts it: 11.09.2020–10.09.2021 is 364 days, not a full year. The gross wage is the last monthly gross wage. Benefits are the regular monthly benefits.
The ceiling is the severance pay ceiling in force on the end date: 64,948.77 TRY from 1 January to 30 June 2026 and 73,729.87 TRY from 1 July 2026. Each full year earns 30 days of wage, which is one month of the wage used (Law 1475 art. 14).
Worked example
The worked example on this page shows an employment from 1 March 2018 to 1 June 2026. The last gross wage is 60,000 TRY and the regular benefits are 5,000 TRY a month. In this example the wage plus benefits exceed the ceiling on the end date, so the ceiling is used. The steps give the length of service, the wage used, the gross severance pay, the stamp duty and the net amount.
Limits
The calculator does not check entitlement: dismissal by the employer, resignation for just cause, retirement, military service, marriage and so on. No income tax or social security premium is withheld; the calculator deducts only stamp duty of 7.59 per mille and does not apply the minimum wage stamp duty exemption. Notice pay, unused leave pay and late payment interest are not calculated. Amounts are rounded to the kuruş. The calculator has ceiling and stamp duty data for end dates from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2026.
