Türkiye Stamp Duty Calculator: Contracts, Leases, Wages

Rules and data: TürkiyeBy Hesaplayıcı

The Türkiye stamp duty calculator finds the stamp duty (damga vergisi) on one document. Enter the date of the document, its type and the amount it states. The calculator applies that year's per mille rate and limits the result to the maximum per document. It covers contracts, leases, guarantees, termination deeds, public decisions, tender decisions and wage payments.

The rates and the maximum per document of that year apply.

For a lease, enter the total rent of the contract period (monthly rent × number of months).

Worked example: A contract of 1,000,000 TRY signed in 2026

Stamp duty

9,480 TRY

Rate
9.48 ‰
Amount × rate
9,480 TRY
Maximum per document
29,115,961.1 TRY
Step by step
  1. Amount × rate

duty before the cap = amount × 9.48 per mille

    duty before the cap = 1,000,000 × 9.48 per mille = 9,480

  2. Stamp duty

stamp duty = min(duty before the cap; maximum)

    stamp duty = min(9,480; 29,115,961.1) = 9,480

How to use

  1. Enter the Date of the document: the day it is signed. The rates and the maximum of that year apply.
  2. Choose the Document type that fits your document.
  3. Enter the Amount on the document in TRY. For a lease, enter the total rent of the contract period.
  4. Press Calculate.

Formula

  • Duty before the cap = amount × rate per mille
  • Stamp duty = min(duty before the cap; maximum)

The amount is the value stated on the document. The rate per mille is the rate of the document type in table 1 of Law no. 488; 9.48 per mille is 0.00948. The maximum is the cap per document in art. 14 of the law, revalued every year. The result is rounded to the kuruş.

Worked example

The worked example on this page shows the stamp duty on a contract of 1,000,000 TRY signed in 2026. The first step multiplies the amount by the rate. The second compares the result with the 2026 maximum per document; in this example the cap does not apply.

Limits

For a document taxed at a rate, only one copy is taxed (art. 5); the calculator gives that duty. Exemptions (such as table 2) and fixed-amount documents are not included. For wage payments, the minimum wage stamp duty exemption is not applied. For a lease with no fixed term, the calculator does not decide the base; you enter the amount. The calculator has data for documents dated from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2026.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the stamp duty rate on contracts in Türkiye in 2026?

Contracts that state an amount pay 9.48 per mille. Lease contracts pay 1.89 per mille, and wage and salary payments 7.59 per mille.

How is stamp duty on a lease contract calculated in Türkiye?

The duty is 1.89 per mille of the total rent for the contract period. For a one-year lease, multiply the monthly rent by 12.

Yes. The duty on one document cannot exceed the maximum of that year: 29,115,961.10 TRY in 2026 and 24,477,478.90 TRY in 2025.

Does a contract signed in two copies pay twice?

No. For a document taxed at a rate, only one copy is taxed (Law 488 art. 5). The calculator gives that duty; do not multiply it by the number of copies. Fixed-amount documents are taxed per copy.

Calculation rules

  • The rates come from table 1 of the Stamp Duty Law no. 488 and the maximum from art. 14 of the law; both are those of the year of the document date.
  • Stamp duty = amount × rate per mille; the result cannot exceed the maximum per document. It is rounded to the kuruş (half up).
  • Only one copy of a document taxed at a rate is taxed (art. 5). Several signing parties, exemptions (e.g. table 2 of Law 488) and fixed-amount documents are not included. The minimum wage stamp duty exemption is not applied.
