Rules and data: TürkiyeBy Hesaplayıcı
The working days calculator counts the working days between two dates in Türkiye, or finds the date a number of working days after a start date. It removes weekends, the public holidays of Law 2429, Ramazan and Kurban Bayramı, and the half days on each holiday eve and 28 October. Saturday and administrative leave are options.

Step by step
Calendar days
calendar days = end − start + 1
calendar days = 2026-12-31 − 2026-01-01 + 1 = 365 days
Weekend days
weekend days = Saturdays + Sundays
weekend days = 52 + 52 = 104 days
Public holidays on working days
public holidays = full days + half days × 0.5
public holidays = 10 + 3 × 0.5 = 11.5 days
Working days
working days = calendar days − weekend days − public holidays
working days = 365 − 104 − 11.5 = 249.5 days
How to use
- In What to calculate, choose the working days between two dates or adding working days to a date.
- Enter the Start date. Between two dates this day counts; when adding working days, the count starts the next day.
- Between two dates, enter the End date; it counts too. When adding, enter the Working days to add.
- Under More options, choose whether Saturday is a working day, how the half days on the eves and 28 October count, and whether administrative leave days are off.
- Press Calculate. The result lists every date taken off the working days in a table.
Formula
working days = calendar days − weekend days − public holidays − administrative leavepublic holidays = full-day holidays + half-day holidays × 0.5
Calendar days are all the days in the range, the start and the end day included. Weekend days are Saturdays and Sundays; with Saturday as a working day, only Sundays. Public holidays are the holidays that fall on weekdays: a feast day on a weekend is not taken off a second time. A half-day holiday is a holiday eve or 28 October, off from 1 pm; it takes 0.5, 0 or 1 day, as you choose. Administrative leave comes off only when you choose it.
When adding working days, the calculator counts the days one by one and gives the day the total reaches your number. With a half day on the way, the total can pass your number by half a day.
Worked example
The example on the page counts the whole of 2026, from 1 January to 31 December. The steps give the calendar days, the weekend days, the holidays on weekdays and the working days. The table shows every date taken off, the days of Ramazan and Kurban Bayramı included.
Limits
The calculator removes the national public holidays. It does not remove holidays of one province or institution, such as a local liberation day, or days off for bad weather. The feast dates come from Diyanet’s calendar; the public holidays by year start in 2005 and run to the last year in the data. Legal deadlines (lawsuits, objections, notices) have their own rules, which the calculator does not apply. Hours and shifts are not used.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the eve of a religious holiday a working day in Türkiye?
The eve (arefe) is a working day until 1 pm and a public holiday after it; 28 October works the same way. The calculator counts these days as half a working day (0.5) by default. You can count them as a full working day or as a holiday instead.
How many working days are there in Türkiye in 2026?
For a Monday-to-Friday week, 249.5: the 261 weekdays minus 10 full holidays and 3 half days (the eves on 19 March and 26 May, and 28 October). 2027 has 249 working days.
Does the start day count when I add working days?
No. The count starts the day after the start date. The calculator gives the day the last working day falls on; one working day after a Friday is the Monday.
Does administrative leave count as a holiday?
Administrative leave (idari izin) is not a public holiday: a circular gives it to public servants only. The calculator counts these days as working days by default. If you are a public servant, choose to count them as days off.
How do I count working days with a six-day week?
Choose “Yes” for “Is Saturday a working day?”. Then only Sunday is the weekly rest day, and a public holiday on a Saturday is taken off too.
Calculation rules
- Public holidays are the days of Law 2429: 1 January, 23 April, 1 May (from 2009), 19 May, 15 July (from 2017), 30 August and 29 October; 28 October from 1 pm; Ramazan Bayramı (Eid al-Fitr) with the afternoon of its eve and 3 days, Kurban Bayramı (Eid al-Adha) with the afternoon of its eve and 4 days. The feast dates come from the calendar of the Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet).
- Between two dates, the start and the end day both count. When adding working days, the start day does not count: the count starts the next day and the result is the day the last working day falls on.
- A holiday eve and 28 October are working days until 1 pm; the calculator counts them as half a working day (0.5). You can count them as a full working day or as a holiday instead. A holiday on a weekend is not taken off a second time.
- With Saturday as a working day, only Sunday is the weekly rest day, and a holiday on a Saturday is taken off too.
- Administrative leave (idari izin) is not a public holiday: a Prime Ministry or Presidency circular gives it to public servants only. It counts as working days unless you choose otherwise.
- The data starts in 2005 and runs to the last year on the data page. The feast dates are added each year from Diyanet’s calendar; later dates are not calculated.
