Age Calculator: How Old Am I?

How to use

1. Enter your Date of birth.
2. Enter the date in Age on this date. For your age today, leave it empty; the calculator uses today in Türkiye time.
3. Press Calculate.

Formula

• Age = difference of the years − (1 if the birthday has not come yet)
• Total days = date − birth date
• Full weeks = ⌊total days / 7⌋
• Days left = next birthday − date

The difference of the years is the year of the date minus the year of birth. If the birthday has not come yet that year, one is taken off. The date is the day the age is calculated for. For the months and days, full months come off first, then the remaining days are counted: a month is complete when its day is at least the start day. Total days counts the birth day but not the day of the calculation. ⌊ ⌋ rounds down.

For people born on 29 February, the birthday in a common year is 1 March. No Turkish law settles this; it is the common practice in Türkiye. Leap years have 366 days: years divisible by 4 are leap years, but century years not divisible by 400 (such as 1900) are not.

Worked example

The worked example on this page shows the age on 13 September 2026 of someone born on 15 May 1990. The steps give the full years, the total days lived, the full weeks and the days to the next birthday.

Limits

The calculator does not use the time of birth or time zones; the age is counted in calendar days. Today is taken in Türkiye time, so it can be a different day in another time zone. For people born on 29 February, a calculation that takes 28 February as the birthday finds one more year on 28 February. For official purposes, the rule of the institution applies.
