Region: Türkiye
Definition

Service buyback (borçlanma) is paying the premium of a listed uninsured period later, so that its days count as insured service. In Türkiye, art. 41 of Law no. 5510 lists military service, the time after a birth, a doctorate, a lawyer internship and more. The days bought back add to the premium days and can bring retirement closer.
Role in the calculation
buyback amount = days × daily earning × premium rate. The insured person picks the daily earning between the SGK floor and ceiling of the application day. Since 2026 the rate is 32% for birth and 45% for military service and the other cases; to the end of 2025 it was 32% for all. The service buyback calculator works out the days, the birth periods and the amount.
Application and payment
The amount uses the floor, the ceiling and the rate of the day the application reaches SGK. The debt must be paid within one month of the notice; unpaid, a new application is needed and the amount is worked out again. A part payment counts the days the amount paid covers. When military service before the first insurance is bought back, the insurance start date moves back by the days bought.
