In Türkiye TÜİK publishes it every month, and it is the official inflation rate. Annual inflation was 31.51% in August 2026. The rent increase cap, however, is the CPI’s 12-month average change.
Where it appears in the formulas
annual inflation = (this month's index / same month last year's index − 1) × 100. In the inflation calculator you enter the annual rate yourself: at 31.51%, a basket that costs 1,000 TRY today costs 1,315.10 TRY a year later.
Difference from the 12-month average
Annual inflation compares a single month with the same month a year earlier. The 12-month average change compares the average of the last twelve months with the twelve before. In August 2026 the average change was 31.79%.
