What Is a Repayment Schedule?

Definition

Repayment Schedule: A table of every installment of a loan in order: the installment, the principal repaid, the interest, any taxes on the interest, and the principal still owed.

A repayment schedule (ödeme planı) is a table of every installment of a loan in order. Each row shows the installment, how much of it repays principal, the interest, any taxes on the interest, and the principal still owed. With equal installments, the interest share falls every month and the principal share rises. The last row ends at zero.

Where it appears in the formulas

Each month interest = remaining principal × r and principal repaid = installment − interest − taxes on the interest; the remaining principal falls by that amount. The loan calculator lists the schedule month by month, and the early repayment calculator reads the remaining principal from it.

In Türkiye

A Turkish consumer loan schedule has two tax columns: KKDF = interest × KKDF rate and BSMV = interest × BSMV rate, so principal repaid = installment − interest − KKDF − BSMV. The loan calculator shows both columns.
