Region: TürkiyeHesaplayıcı
Family and Social Services Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş said the Aile ve Gençlik Fonu (Family and Youth Fund) paid 1 billion 756 million 600 thousand lira to 15,468 young people in October. Couples where both partners are 18-25 receive a 250,000-lira interest-free loan; at 26-29 the amount is 200,000 lira. Applications run in all 81 provinces via e-Devlet.
How much is the marriage support?
The amount has two tiers, based on the couple’s ages. According to Minister Göktaş, if both partners are between 18 and 25 the support is 250,000 lira; if both are between 26 and 29 it is 200,000 lira.
The money is paid as an interest-free loan. The term is 48 months, with no repayments in the first 2 years. Göktaş said the loan amounts were updated in January.
Age is assessed on the application date: under the ministry’s rules, you must have turned 18 and must not have turned 30.
Who can apply?
Both partners must meet the ministry’s application conditions:
- Be a Turkish citizen and reside in Türkiye,
- Be aged 18-29 on the application date,
- Own no property or share in a property,
- Have an average income over the last 6 months no higher than 2.5 times the minimum wage,
- Be at least 2 and at most 6 months away from the official wedding date.
There are further conditions: a commitment to attend pre-marriage and post-marriage training, no finalised conviction for certain offences, and no previous loan from the fund.
Applications are made through ailegenclikfonu.aile.gov.tr and e-Devlet. The fund has received 315,696 applications so far, and loans worth 22 billion 804 million 100 thousand lira have been provided to 238,448 young people.
What does 2.5 times the minimum wage come to?
The 2026 net minimum wage is 28,075.50 lira. Two and a half times that is 70,188.75 lira; if the couple’s average income over the last 6 months exceeds this, the income condition is not met.
The income limit used to be 2.3 times the minimum wage. On the same wage that came to 64,573.65 lira, a difference of 5,615.10 lira between the two figures. We calculated the multiplier change with the percentage change tool: an increase of 8.7%.
The ministry does not say whether the limit is calculated on the gross or the net minimum wage. On the gross wage (33,030 lira), 2.5 times would be 82,575 lira. The 2026 minimum wage figures are on the data page.
| Income limit | Multiple of minimum wage | Monthly amount |
|---|---|---|
| Previous limit | 2.3 times | 64,573.65 lira |
| New limit | 2.5 times | 70,188.75 lira |
| Difference | 0.2 times | 5,615.10 lira |

How do repayments change when a couple has a child?
For couples who have a child within 48 months, 12 monthly instalments are granted for the first child and the remaining debt is deferred for 12 months. With that deferral the term stretches to 60 months.
If a second child is born within that period, the whole remaining debt is written off. So far 23,110 couples with one child have used the 12-month grant and deferral, and the debt of 528 couples has been written off entirely because they had two or more children.
Among the 23,638 couples supported by the fund, 24,176 children have been born. Göktaş also said 271,118 young people have received training and counselling alongside the loan support.
