What Is the Cumulative Tax Base in Türkiye?
Region: Türkiye
Definition
Cumulative Tax Base: The sum of an employee's monthly income tax bases from January up to the current month in Turkish payroll. It decides which bracket rate applies to each month's pay.
The cumulative tax base is the sum of an employee’s monthly income tax bases from January to the current month in Turkish payroll. When the total crosses a bracket limit, the excess is taxed at the higher rate. So net pay can fall in later months at the same gross.
Where it appears in the formulas
month's tax = tax(cumulative base) − tax(previous cumulative base): the tariff is applied to the new total and to last month’s total, and the month’s tax is the difference. The gross-to-net and net-to-gross salary calculators do this for every month with the wage tariff.
