In 2026, Türkiye’s SGK pays two-thirds of daily earnings for outpatient sick leave and half for inpatient care. The daily earnings floor is 1,101 TL and the ceiling 9,909 TL. A 45,000 TL gross salary gives 8,000 TL for a 10-day outpatient report; at the floor, 5,872 TL. First two illness days are unpaid; maternity is paid from day one.
How much is sick pay in Türkiye in 2026?
The benefit uses two rates: two-thirds of daily earnings for outpatient treatment and half for inpatient treatment. For a 45,000 TL gross monthly salary, daily earnings are 1,500 TL; the benefit is 1,000 TL a day outpatient and 750 TL inpatient.

How is the payment calculated, and why are the first two days unpaid?
SGK calls this a temporary incapacity benefit. Daily earnings are the prime-based earnings in the 12 months before the report month divided by premium days; the guide shows the same calculation with an example.
In 2026 daily earnings cannot fall below 1,101 TL or rise above 9,909 TL; the monthly equivalents are 33,030 TL and 297,270 TL. If there are fewer than 180 premium days in the last 12 months, daily earnings stay at 2,202 TL and outpatient pay falls to 1,468 TL. The first 2 days of an illness report are unpaid; at a 45,000 TL gross salary that means a 2,000 TL deduction. There is no deduction for work accidents, occupational diseases or maternity.
What does maternity pay come to?
Maternity reports have no unpaid waiting days. In 2026 maternity leave lasts 24 weeks: 8 before the birth and 16 after it. At the same salary, a birth on 5 October 2026 gives 168,000 TL for all 168 days from 10 August 2026 to 24 January 2027, at 1,000 TL a day. How did the higher ceiling change the payment?
The monthly ceiling rose from 195,041.40 TL to 297,270 TL, and the daily ceiling from 6,501.38 TL to 9,909 TL: a 52.41% increase. The daily floor rose from 866.85 TL to 1,101 TL, a 27.01% increase.
