Overtime (Fazla Mesai): Work above the weekly working time that the law or the contract sets. Each overtime hour is paid at a premium above the normal hourly wage; many countries also cap the overtime hours in a year.

Each overtime hour is paid at a premium above the normal hourly wage, and many countries cap the overtime hours a worker may do in a year. Overtime pay is added to the month’s gross wage, so the deductions grow with it.
Where it appears in the formulas
overtime pay = hourly wage × premium rate × hours. The overtime calculator derives the hourly wage from the monthly gross wage and applies the premium of each hour type. The result is gross: overtime pay is added to the month’s wage and the deductions are taken from the total.
In Türkiye
Under Labour Law 4857 art. 41, overtime is work above 45 hours a week. Each overtime hour is paid 50% above the hourly wage. When the contract sets fewer than 45 hours, work above the contract hours and up to 45 is extra hours, paid 25% above it. The yearly limit is 270 hours. The overtime calculator uses overtime pay = monthly gross wage / 225 × 150% × hours; for extra hours the rate is 125%. The divisor 225 is payroll practice (30 days × 7.5 hours), not a figure in the law.
