What Is a Business Day?
Definition
Business Day: A working day that is not a weekend day or a public holiday. In Türkiye this usually means Monday to Friday.
A business day is a working day that is not a weekend day or a public holiday. In Türkiye it usually means Monday to Friday; Saturday and Sunday do not count. Turkish public holidays are listed in Law No. 2429 on National Holidays and General Holidays. A week has 7 calendar days but usually 5 business days.
Where it appears in the formulas
business days = days − Saturdays and Sundays. The date difference calculator counts the Mondays to Fridays in the range. It does not remove public holidays, religious holidays or half-day holiday eves; take those off the result yourself.
Not the same everywhere
Some workplaces also work on Saturdays. A contract or a law can define a business day differently; for a deadline, follow the definition in that text.
